M. Thomas Inge, Blackwell Professor of the Humanities at Randolph-Macon College, will give an illustrated talk on "Mark Twain and Comic Art" under the auspices of the Center's Distinguished Academic Visitors program. In addition to examining illustrated renditions of Twain's works, the talk will also consider Mark Twain as a favorite subject of caricaturists. A leading authority on American popular culture who has published widely in his field, Professor Inge has consulted and lectured abroad in eighteen countries as both a Senior Fulbright Lecturer and a Resident Scholar of the United States Information Agency.
